How to Go from Camper to Glamper
If you love RVing, chances are you love the great outdoors. You probably also like being able to escape the great outdoors. That is, after all, part of the beauty of camping in an RV. But how would you like to up your luxury camping game to full-on glamping? Glamping is a modern way of experiencing nature. It’s done in a variety of shelters—from elegant teepees to contemporary tree houses with full accommodations—but if you own a home on wheels, there’s no need to bother with any extravagant “glamping grounds.” If you want to bring a little more of the comforts of home with you on your weekend adventures, keep reading! Here are our tips for the perfect glamping experience in your RV!
Create your space.
First things first. Before you hit the road, transform your fifth wheel or travel trailer into a sanctuary.
- Décor. Do you love the décor of your RV? You don’t have to settle for the look it came with. You decorate your house, so why not your camper? Maybe all it needs is a fresh coat of paint to brighten it up or some new faux wood linoleum flooring to warm it up. Don’t forget some cozy throw pillows and a warm blanket for the couch!
- Ambiance. We don’t recommend lighting any candles in your RV, but LED candles are perfect for givingBowman your RV a warm ambiance. And if you love scented candles, oil and wax warmers are safe alternatives (for when you’re parked, of course). Autumn is fast-approaching, so be sure to stock up on those pumpkin spice and apple cider scents for a festive camping season!
- Sweet dreams. RVs aren’t exactly known for their comfortable sleeping arrangements. If your RV has a lumpy spring mattress, you have options. A pillow or memory foam mattress topper could make a world of difference for the quality of your sleep in the camper. If you’re still tossing and turning, though, consider investing in a new mattress sans lumps and springs. Oh, and don’t forget those high-thread count sheets!
Choose your camping cuisine.
One of the beautiful things about camping in an RV is that you don’t have to settle for camp food. Most RVs are equipped with a kitchen, so take advantage of it! If you want chicken alfredo on your camping trip, have yourself some chicken alfredo. Don’t settle for roasted weenies—unless, of course, you like roasted weenies. The culinary world is your oyster when you’re glamping.
Take a break from entertainment…or don’t.
The choice is yours when you’re traveling with a mobile entertainment center. Enjoy a movie night in after a day out exploring nature. If you have access to Wi-Fi, you can continue that Netflix binge. Just don’t forget to step out into the fresh air once in a while!
Park in style.
Apart from the RV itself, this might be the most important component of glamping. Reserve a spot in an RV resort or park with full amenities. Many RV parks offer home comforts like laundry facilities, a private pool, Wi-Fi, and more. Why boondock when you can camp without sacrificing creature comforts?
These are just a few ways to make your camping experience more glamorous. There are plenty of other ways to go glamping, but most importantly you need to find the RV of your dreams.
