The holidays are over, and it’s a brand-new year. A blank slate. A fresh canvas. What are you going to do with it? As strong advocates for the RV lifestyle, we believe every RVer’s new year’s resolution should be to go on more adventures. It may be wintertime, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to wait until spring. If you’re stumped on places to take your RV in the winter, keep reading. We’ve selected 5 amazing winter RV destinations that will make you want to pack up your travel trailer or fifth wheel immediately.

Arizona

If you’re in search of some of the most breathtaking landscapes the southwest has to offer, look no further than Arizona. Tucson is home to a diverse set of terrains, from mountains to desert, and provides outdoor enthusiasts with stunning vistas to breath in, trails to hike, and wildlife to observe.

Texas

Texas is a land of topographic, as well as cultural, diversity. This diversity paired with a mild climate year-round makes Texas a popular vacation spot for RVers during the winter. On the coast, beaches are frequented year-round, but locals and winter Texans love the beach during winter months because the crowds are smaller. If you’re more interested in a green landscape with rivers and trees, however, Austin is home to several lush hiking trails. If you’re more incline toward a rugged terrain, Big Bend National Park will satisfy your craving for adventure.

Florida

Florida is an obvious choice for any winter vacationer in search of some sunny beach weather to warm up in, but Florida isn’t just a beach-goer’s dream. Florida is home to the most magical place on earth, Disney World. If you’re traveling in your RV, you’ll want to check out Fort Wilderness Resort. An RV park and camping ground, this resort is hidden within the fantastical land we all dream of as kids. Take your kids to Disney World this winter and spend some time soaking in nature at Fort Wilderness.

Louisiana

If you’ve never taken a trip to the land of soul food, bayous, and Jazz music, it’s time to change that. Louisiana is rich in culture, history, and beauty. Immerse yourself in all three with a trip to New Orleans where you can step back in time with a stroll through the historic neighborhoods, party with the locals at a festival, and eat all the Cajun food you can stand. If the city attractions don’t impress you, Kisatchie National Forest is a perfect getaway for nature lovers. Not too cold in the winter, Kisatchie is a great place to take the family camping, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife-observing.

California

This list wouldn’t be complete without California, a land of towering mountains, roaring sea sides, and vast expanses of desert wilderness. Wedged deep in the southern region of California is Joshua Tree National Park, an ideal location for any warmth and adventure seeker. Named for the bizarre yuccas that stand as tall as trees and look like they belong on another planet, Joshua Tree is an awe-inspiring destination that attracts RVers as well as tent-campers. But Joshua Tree is just one of the many beautiful wintertime RV destinations California has to offer. Consider exploring San Diego, Malibu, and Death Valley, too!
